6 month wedding anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, Glenn and I had our 6 month anniversary! Time has flown by and it doesn't seem like anywhere near 6 months! We have accomplished a lot in the past 6 months... first Glenn decided to go to UCLA (no, we didn't have ANY idea) until a couple of months after the wedding, we graduated, moved to LA, moved into our apartment, made great strides in learning how to get around in LA, Glenn started law school, I have actually started kind of enyoying cooking ( I never thought I would say that! It helps to have a funcional kitchen!), we both turned 23, and I have made a lot of progress in figuring out the direction I want to go with my career, and (hopefully) will get hired soon (I've been working hard on it!). I have my 3rd interview with a company tomorrow so I hope it goes well! They make you interview so many times before hiring you! I have a feeling if I do well tomorrow I'll still have AT LEAST one more interview with them! I hate interviewing. It is so stressful and unnatural! oh well!

We still don't have our sofa yet :-( It should arrive in the next couple of weeks. And we don't have much money to go to all the fun places like Disneyland, shopping, and the San Diego zoo, etc, but we have had a great time doing inexpensive things like hiking and the beach. It's been great!
My friend Reed from Tulsa visited me this weekend and we had a blast. He lived here one summer so he pretty much showed me around! It felt good to see a good friend from home.

Weekend in Oxnard

This weekend, Glenn and I headed North of LA to Oxnard to dog/apartment sit for Glenn's friend Brian and his girlfriend Sarah. It was really nice to get away from the traffic and hustle and bustle of LA for a couple of days . Brian and Sarah's apartment overlooks channel islands harbor and sailboat docks, so it was very picturesque.

On Saturday, we puttered around the channel island shops, and visited the Ventura County Maritime Museum, which was among the shops. The Museum featured nautical displays, models of historic sailing ships, and a world-class marine art collection. (my favorite part!) They had a special exhibit from a plein air painting competition displayed which was exciting to me because I had just done a similar contest in Galveston, TX earlier in the summer. I really enjoyed looking at the art and I decided I want to enter the competition next summer.

We also learned that you can go whale watching in that area and lately they have had an abnormal number of blue whale sightings! We will definitely go whale watching during the right season.

On Sunday we went to the beach and it was beautiful!
